The Most Powerful Homecare Worker Voice in Albany and Washington D.C.

Because most home care funding comes from the government, 1199SEIU members are extremely active in the legislative and regulatory arenas. As the largest union of care workers in the country, 1199SEIU has played a leading role in protecting funding for home care workers, increasing the minimum wage for care workers, and passing legislation requiring minimum wage levels, to ensure quality client care.

In the last year alone, 1199SEIU homecare members won a $1.55 an hour raise for many New York homecare workers.
